Animal Mash-up

Digital Photography | Photoshop | Laser Color printed

2014 Student work presented here… is from my 5th through 12th grade Digital Art class at River Homelink.

Students were asked to mash-up 8 different animal parts using Photoshop and images of animals. Students learned the magnetic lasso tool, the masking tool (and process), how to copy paste from one window to the other, transform (scale, rotate, flip, distort) and how to hold shift to lock proportion. Students also learned how to select all in order to copy/paste in the background and reinforced the idea of foreground at top of layer palette list and the background elements are on the bottom of the layer palette list. The text tool was used to name the animal creation and add the artist name in the lower corners. The accessory added is supposed to reflect the habitat chosen for the animal.
